BORN: 1905, in Oscoda, MI

DIED: About 1960.

Born in Michigan and studied at the Cleveland School of Art in Ohio; Western University graduate, and a member of Cleveland Print-makers.

He came to Milwaukee in 1934 or 1935 and was Instrumental in the formation the Milwaukee Printmakers in 1935, serving as its first president. The Milwaukee Printmakers produced a Wisconsin Arts calendar in 1936, 1937, and 1938 that featured their original prints - which were mostly woodcuts.

He also was a Professor at the Milwaukee State Teachers College in the late 1930s - which is now UW-Milwaukee.

Some exhibitions and awards include the Milwaukee Print-makers; Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors. Award: Honorable mention, Cleveland Museum of Art, 1934. He was represented in the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Milwaukee Art Institute.
